5 Little Known Ways to Drastically Create Targeted Web Traffic in 7 Days Or Less

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Creating a steady stream of clicks to your website can be done in many ways. SEO, PPC, Ad Swaps, Content Syndication, Guest Blogging, Video Marketing, Forum Marketing, Local Search Marketing, Blog Carnivals, Email Marketing, Paid Reviews, Document & eBook publishing are just a few ways to do it. Creating a system within all this work will be important for a highly performing e-marketer too. However, if you don’t do it right, it will all have been a waste.

To start, follow these steps:

#1: Keyword Research – Find & Connect

Keyword research is one of the most important tasks. Try tools like Goggle Keyword Tool, SEO Book Keyword Tool, and the free version at Wordtracker.com. Use Goggle itself to find out via the suggestions it provides, and related searches, to see what people are seeking into your marketplace. The new Wonder Wheel from Goggle (found under ‘Show Options’ after a search) is a powerful tool, and must be used. It will help you find out what negative keywords should be included. Set up a 10-15 day Goggle AdWords campaign, spend a few hundred dollars and see what traffic and keywords get the most ‘action’. You are looking for “buyer keywords”, specifically. Test the ad copy and landing pages using the Goggle Web Optimizer tool, and find out what converts best. You should give the visitor something for free, and when they access the download, try a quick survey (surveymonkey.com) to get more ideas and feedback. Discover how they search the web and target your terms accordingly. (Informational, Transactional, Navigational)? ‘Harley Davidson jackets for men’ is better than just ‘leather jackets’, for example. Use SEO to create a set of themed pages to match your findings. Make sure those landing pages have a blog associated with the domain.

#2: The Amazing New Traffic Magnets

Since Goggle is the gigantic Monster we love (and hate?) for visibility, it’s important to know this fact: The Goggle algorithm favors heavily trusted links for ranking, and hence traffic. Creating quality content and always providing relevant, useful messages is your objective. It’s not about massive spamming of directories and article destination, or social bookmarks. These techniques work well:

  • i) Quality Article Marketing – 400-600 words with real value. Think about the users and webmasters (who may use the information) first. Make sure to include at least 2 links in the resources box. One could be the actual company name, another, an anchor text keyword. Think users, and then search engines. Make sure to submit to top article directories within your category and sub-category. You can use Yahoo directory and DMOZ to get a sense for activity and relevancy in your marketplace. EzineArticles is a highly trusted source. You might have found references in the search results during your keyword research.
  • ii) Answering questions -Providing value to your community is always a good thing. See the top answer search engines and get started. I have used Yahoo Answers and Yedda, they are all pretty easy to use. Remember to not “pitch” your own business. Provide real, useful answers. Of course, you’ll get a link back to your site, but the “value” is more important long term. Have others post questions and answers.
  • iii) Create profiles in social communities, share & care -Start with one or two at first (recommend Twitter & YouTube). Look at what your competition is doing. Check Digg, Reddit, Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, Delicious, YouTube, Technorati, Stumbleupon. But – don’t forget to look at: Squidoo.com, Hubpages.com, Zimbio.com, Scribd.com, Docstoc.com, Slideshare.net, eHow. For search terms you are targeting, it’s easy to get first page ranking using these trusted web properties. It will build your brand and company reputation quickly. It’s free to start. Use socialmarker.com to bookmark your best content across multiple accounts easy and fast. However, do not spam – and try to keep the various content channels unique, vary the headlines and copy slightly, if you can.
Distribute your videos via tubemogul.com, and make sure to include the keywords in the TITLE of the post, and vary them where you can, including placing them early in the post. Include your www reference before starting the description. Use URL shorteners like budurl to track your clicks and visitors from Twitter. Create a broadcasting system of all your accounts with ping.fm. Instantly, your “tweets” will show across your social network. You can make custom URLs that search engines will use, ongoing.

#3: Videos

Create a YouTube channel for your brand or keyword, and post regular “how to” videos. Make them anywhere from 60-120 seconds long, and look for engagement and views. Make sure to “solve a problem”, and make it exciting & informative. Join and engage in the community, and make friends. Comments on top followers videos, and get in early. Embed these videos on your own website pages.

#4: Blogging To The Max!

Consider setting up your own keyword rich domain and install WordPress on it. Host it on GoDaddy, Dreamhost or Bluehost. Blogger.com (Goggle owned) is free. Post with strong headlines (benefit/action oriented) 2-3 times weekly, promote (RSS), and increase from there. Keep in mind, top bloggers post 2-3 times a day and more. You can ramp up as necessary.

#5: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats

Have you done your SWOT analysis? Make sure you have short and long term goals in mind. A SWOT plan can really help you. Look at the competition using SpyFu.com, Compete.com and SEMrush.com. If you want a quick overview of your competition that includes social popularity and traffic measures, try quarkbase.com. Think about conversions as your end goal, and what keywords and copy will connect best with the prospects via testing of ad copy, pages, and competitive study.

Remember! Creating trust and authority using relevant link building via the sources above should never stop. Articles and Videos will drive traffic fast to your site. Strap on your seat belts, get to work and have fun.

You can connect with your video traffic by providing personal or detailed information on your product or service and about yourself as well. This forms a bond between you and the viewer, and makes them more likely to visit your website, or recognize your name in the future.

Video marketing is one powerful tool that you can’t miss adding to your Internet marketing arsenal. It is because search views in YouTube and other video websites increase in thousands each day that you should take advantage of this opportunity. Video is a sure fire way to get your website, products or services the attention they deserve in the World Wide Web. Here are a few video marketing concepts that you need to know before embarking on this type of Internet marketing campaign:

1.      The Basics Involved in Video Marketing

Before getting too excited regarding how to use videos in driving more traffic to your website, you first have to know some basics which will form the foundation of your Internet marketing campaign. Video marketing concepts such as creating your own account in video websites such as YouTube is a must long before you can create a heyday of website traffic.

2.      Creating Your Own Video

Most people think that the video marketing concept such as making videos is rocket science, but actually it isn’t. There are many easy ways to record your own video, make a PowerPoint presentation, and using any movie maker software available to finally create your own video masterpiece in a jiffy. Never forget to write your brand or website on your own videos so as to avoid it being stolen. This is also to ensure that more and more people recognize your brand so as to drive more traffic to your website.

3.      Writing Content For Your Video

Writing effective content for your video is another indispensable video marketing concept to take note of. This creates an edge to your Internet marketing campaign as you will help more and more people understand what you are trying to deliver. Content in videos is also highly subscribed by people than the usual written article. Another thing to take note of in writing content is that you should include keywords to make your video highly searchable.

4.      Posting Your Video

If you are already confident with the video that you have created plus the content you have written on it, then it is about time that you release it to the World Wide Web through free video posting websites such as YouTube, Metacafe, DailyMotion and more. Remember that you must post it in as many video websites as you can to gain more coverage in traffic, if you are posting to only You Tube, you are missing 25% of the market and it can be done with less work then posting on You Tube. This may seem like the last video marketing concept that you should know, but actually there is more.

5.      What to Do After Posting Your Video
