Create Targeted Web Traffic With Article Marketing
I’m a big fan of article marketing. There are literally hundreds of ways to drive visitors to your site, but with everything I’ve tested, one of the best ways to create targeted web traffic is through article marketing.
What Is Article Marketing?
Article marketing as the name suggests is a way to market your website by writing and submitting articles. These articles are most often submitted to article directories. Readers can find your article there or it could be picked up by other webmasters to be displayed on their own website (with a link back to the writer’s website of course).
For the writer, the goal is to compose a compelling article and then invite the reader at the end (the resource box) to visit his or her website.
How Does It Work?
This marketing strategy works best when you write an interesting article that flows well. Your end goal is to have the visitor read the entire article all the way to the resource box at the end. In this resource box you invite the reader to visit your own website for more information. The reason this traffic is so targeted (translation – converts well) is because you are attracting visitors and readers who are already interested in what you have to offer. Craft your resource box with a call to action that spells out exactly what they can expect at the other end of that hyperlink and you’ll end up with a nice stream of visitors that are ready for whatever you have to offer.
How Can I Get Started?
By now, I’m sure you’re ready to give article marketing a try yourself. Start by signing up for one of the more popular article directories. I suggest you start with EzineArticles.com. Read through the Editorial Guidelines to get an idea of where and how you can link and what the content requirements are. Then sit down and write a short articles (300 to 400 words) on a topic you are comfortable talking about. Next, write an author resource box that includes a link back to your website and submit the article.

What do They want information on? What is their real issue or question.
